Edison's Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS/RTI)
The use of MTSS at Edison Middle School helps all students reach their full potential. It is a framework that helps administrators, teachers, and parents plan prevention and intervention strategies for behavior and academic success. The Tier I committee meets monthly to plan school-wide PBIS incentives for our monthly behavior goals. Tier II committee meets monthly to discuss how best to identify student needs and the school-wide effectiveness of services we offer through student services. The Edison RTI Tier III team meets weekly to discuss and implement success plans for individual students. Students can be referred to the RTI Tier III team for assessment for academic or behavior needs after they do not respond to Tier I and Tier II interventions. Referrals can be made by teachers, student services staff, and/or parents/guardians. View the video and presentations below to learn more about MTSS at Edison and in Illinois.
